A young gold medalist doctor of veterinary medicine (DVM) committed suicide after he could not get job despite efforts for around two years.
Dr Danish Nawaz attempted suicide at his native village Zaida in Swabi and was taken to Hayatabad Medical Complex, Peshawar, where he expired.
“Nawaz had done his DVM degree from Agriculture University, Peshawar, and got gold medal two years ago. He was very enthusiastic and striving to get a good job and support his poor father,” said his brother Kashif Khan. He said that Nawaz applied for many relevant posts, but like other Pakistanis who had no approach in government, he was rejected every time.
Mr Kashif said that his brother would often show despair over spending huge money of his poor father on education and his inability to support his family. He said that for the last two weeks his brother was under constant stress and he consumed poisonous pills to end his life.
